Biology events cover living organisms, human body systems, genetics, ecology, and disease. These events test both content knowledge and lab skills across the breadth of life on Earth.
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and ecology of plants. Topics include plant structure, reproduction, adaptations, and identification of major plant groups.
Participants will use their investigative skills in the scientific study of disease, injury, health, and disability in populations or groups of people โ essentially epidemiology.
Teams will answer questions, solve problems, and analyze data pertaining to classic and molecular genetics โ from Punnett squares to modern genetic analysis.
Participants will be assessed on their understanding and evaluation of marine and estuarine aquatic environments, including testing water samples and analyzing coastal ecosystem health.
