Biology events cover living organisms, human body systems, genetics, ecology, and disease. These events test both content knowledge and lab skills across the breadth of life on Earth.
Participants will use their investigative skills in the scientific study of disease, injury, health, and disability in populations or groups of people โ essentially epidemiology.
Students will identify insects and immature insects by taxonomy order and family, answer questions, and use or construct a dichotomous key. All insects are representatives found in North America.
Teams will answer questions, solve problems, and analyze data pertaining to classic and molecular genetics โ from Punnett squares to modern genetic analysis.
Participants will be assessed on their understanding and evaluation of freshwater aquatic environments, including building a salinometer device and testing water samples.
